Mojgan Rostaminia, Casey McKenna, Justin Monahan, Zach Hudgik, Ellaina Gordon, Minwoo Lee, Nick Tucker, Megan Pritchard, Nick Redinger join Otak

PORTLAND, Oregon – December 29, 2017Otak Inc, (Otak) an award-winning architecture, urban design, engineering, and planning firm, is pleased to announce a number of new hires that will be working out of the Portland and Vancouver offices.

Mojgan Rostaminia, Ph.D. joined Otak’s water and natural resources team as a Water Resources Designer. Mojgan earned her doctorate in Environmental Science and Engineering, Ocean & Estuary from the Oregon Health & Science University Center for Coastal Margin Observation & Prediction, where she also worked as a Graduate Research Assistant. In this role, Mojgan worked on various synthesizing projects concerning the Columbia River Estuary, predicting estuarine and stream hydrology and habitat response to future changes using 3D hydrodynamic modeling. In addition, Mogjan worked in a collaborative project with the US Army Corps of Engineers and the NOAA Northwest Fisheries Science Center, which determined the impact of the Columbia River Channel Improvement Project on estuarine physics and salmon habitat in the Columbia River estuary.

Casey McKenna, RA joined Otak’s architecture team as a senior project manager. Casey has over 21 years of experience in the architectural design and construction management. He is a licensed architect and Certified Builder by the Passive House Institute US. Prior to working at Otak, Casey worked at Hammer and Hand as a commercial projects supervisor.

Justin Monahan joined Otak’s corporate group as a Director of Contracts & Risk Management. Justin will also assist Otak’s clients with research and project management support. Justin is a licensed attorney, and he has also earned his Master of Architecture from the University of Oregon. Prior to Otak, Justin represented public and private clients including design professionals, school and service districts, commercial and residential property owners, and design professionals on all matters involving design, construction and development, including a winning argument at the Oregon Supreme Court regarding the interpretation of AIA contract documents.

Zach Hudgik, PE joined Otak’s engineering team as a Civil Engineer. Prior to Otak, Zach worked as a civil engineer for KLJ in Dickinson, North Dakota. While in Dickinson, Zach also served as a volunteer firefighter for the City. A native of Oregon, Zach is a graduate from Oregon State University with bachelor’s degrees in Civil and Forest Engineering.

Ellaina Gordon joined Otak’s marketing team as a Senior Marketing Coordinator. Prior to Otak, Ellie worked as a project coordinator at Adecco Staffing Agency and as a marketing coordinator with Elcon Associates and OBEC Consulting Engineers. Ellie recently completed her MBA at Concordia University-Portland.

Minwoo Lee joined Otak’s architecture team as an Architectural Designer. Minwoo previously worked for HanmiGlobal’s International Business division as a manager. Minwoo has a master’s degree in Design and a bachelor’s degree in Architectural Engineering.

Nicholas Tucker joined Otak’s surveying team as a Survey Field Technician. Prior to Otak, Nick worked as a lead machinist for GK Machine Inc. Nick recently earned his associate degree from Portland Community College, and is currently studying for his bachelor’s degree in geomatics at Oregon Institute of Technology.

Megan Pritchard joined Otak’s finance team as a Project Accountant. Prior to Otak, Megan worked for Siteworks Design-Build, initially as an accounting clerk, and then in a Project Coordinator position in their construction department.

Nick Redinger, EI joined Otak’s engineering department as a Civil Engineering Designer. Nick is a recent graduate of the University of Wyoming, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, with an emphasis in Structural and Transportation Engineering.
