Expanding access and services to communities across the area, the St. Charles Health System Redmond Cancer Center adds 53,000 square feet of space for radiation oncology, medical oncology, and infusion services. As owner’s representative, Otak provided a full scope of services including program cost controls, schedule oversight, construction management, as well as medical equipment and furniture coordination in bringing this facility from concept to completion.

Completing a Facility for Community-Serving Healthcare

The new Redmond Cancer Center features advanced technologies enabling the system to serve up to 300 patients daily. Additionally, the presence of these services in Redmond, Oregon, reduces barriers to oncology care for patients in Central Oregon communities who struggled to commute to further facilities. Two linear accelerator vaults, CT SIM, and a high-dose brachytherapy suite for radiation treatment are notable features in the programming along with facility enhancements focused on efficient caregiver workflows and operations. The facility is an augmentation of St. Charles oncology programs which provide a range of licensed outpatient cancer treatment services including oncology clinic space, radiation therapy, infusion, integrative therapy, pharmacy, labs, and specialized oncology treatments. The entire facility was designed with the patient in mind, supporting easy access for patients as well as a holistic environment for care that features beautiful interior finishes and wide views of the surrounding landscape and nearby Cascade Mountains.
