Otak’s stream professionals from the Portland office walked several tributaries of the Tualatin River to assess the geomorphic condition of the streams and collect baseline data prior to the planned River Terrace community development further upstream in Tigard. The geomorphic assessments involved measuring channel geometry, sampling bed material, documenting habitat and riparian characteristics, and evaluating fluvial erosion and bank instabilities. Otak worked closely with staff from the City of Tigard, and the findings of the study will inform the development of design alternatives with the goal of protecting the existing streams from degradation.
