Otak staff from the water and natural resources group attended the 12th Annual Northwest Stream Restoration Symposium hosted by River Restoration Northwest in Skamania, Washington. The symposium sold out with over 400 attendees from agencies, nonprofits, and private companies. Otak was a silver-level sponsor of the symposium, and we had many interesting discussions at our display booth and during meals. Presentations from professionals in the field were supplemented by short courses and a field trip, led by Gary Wolff and Kevin Timmins, to the East Lents Floodplain Restoration project. Gary Wolff serves on the Board of River Restoration Northwest and was involved with short course coordination at the symposium. Melanie McCandless assisted as a student volunteer coordinator. Other Otak attendees included Kevin O’Brien, Russ Gaston, and Ryan Hawkins.
