When Chairman Kim established Otak’s strategic partner HanmiGlobal (HG), one of his founding principles was to design and manage HG as an employee-oriented company. As a result, HG has been recognized as a “Great Workplace” by the Korean Great Workplace (GWP) program for eight consecutive years. This year’s score of HG employee satisfaction was 85-87 points out of 100. Chairman Kim attributes this GWP success to HG’s commitment to its staff and employee’s exercising a high level of corporate social responsibility. Highlights of HG’s corporate social responsibilities include:
• All HG employees donate 1% of their salary to charity and participate in a monthly social contribution activity. Many employees participate with their families.
• Chairman Kim established the “warm companion” program to aid the under privileged in April 2010. All employees donate to the program, and Chairman Kim personally donated $900,000.
• HG funds a scholarship program to help pay for the education of employees’ children from kindergarten to college.

Chairman Kim believes that HG’s commitment to corporate responsibility helps employees bond, work together, and have fun together while making HG a better company.
