Otak staff recently attended the groundbreaking ceremony for the Woodburn Interchange and Transit Facility Project. The reconstructed and improved interchange and the transit facility will serve the City of Woodburn and improve safety and operations for I-5 travelers. Otak had a significant role in this project. Our work began with a re-evaluation of an earlier Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) Environmental Assessment.  That effort was followed by a Context Sensitive and Sustainable Solutions community engagement process and a final design role in the following project elements:
• Evergreen Transit/Park-and-Ride facility
• Evergreen Road extension
• Aesthetic enhancements for reconstructed interchange over I-5
• Aesthetic enhancements for sound walls
• Stormwater management
• Landscape and irrigation design
The project will be completed in 2016, and Otak will provide construction services in support of ODOT staff until completion. If you want to know more about the project, check out the ODOT project website, which features a number of our concept design illustrations:
