Otak has been working on the University of Washington, Bothell/Cascadia Community College Collocated Campus since 1993. One of the key elements of campus development has been a 60-acre wetland and stream restoration that covers almost half of the 127-acre project site. This wetland restoration has become one of the largest and most successful restorations on the west coast. Otak provided the civil engineering associated with the restoration, which included the relocation of over 4,000 feet of North Creek and the creation of a new floodplain. The following video highlights the work done to restore the wetlands and create opportunities for student and public education.
