Otak values my work and I value the opportunities to provide design and input on community interest, National Parks, and international projects.
Gary became interested in art and architecture at an early age. Recently joining Otak when his company, V3 Studios, was acquired, he was attracted to our people and the multi-disciplinary collaboration on our projects. With a keen knack for conceptualizing designs and telling the story, and mentoring and teaching, Gary is helping Otak’s architecture group visualize our path forward. A recognized expert in urban planning and smart growth, Gary has dedicated his career to designing high-quality architecture and increasing the livability of communities in the United States and throughout the world. His multifamily housing, hospitality, and master planning designs span the globe. A leader in the field and past president of the American Institute of Architects (Portland) and the Architectural Foundation of Oregon, he’s frequently asked to speak at conferences, universities, planning departments, and civil organizations on urban architecture and master planning. Well known as a civic leader, architect, and board member for 40 years, Gary is also an accomplished fine artist with over 250 repeat collectors around the world.
