My college professor shared her passion for stream restoration and got me excited about becoming a water resources engineer.
When Allison was studying at Gonzaga University, her professor, Dr. Sue Niezgoda, shared her passion for stream restoration. This made Allison excited to go into the field of water resources engineering. Allison began working at Otak in our office in Redmond, WA, and now she works in our Louisville, CO office, working on stormwater and stream restoration projects. Much of her work focuses on stream restoration projects along the Colorado Front Range resulting from damage caused by a severe flood event in 2013. Allison is able to synthesize her team’s ideas and put a plan set together, and she enjoys working with her fun, smart peers at Otak. Outside of work, Allison volunteers at Boulder Food Rescue, picking up food from grocery stores and delivering it by bicycle to low-income housing communities. She’s happiest when spending a summer day in the mountains, so her move to Boulder was a great one!
