US395: McKay Creek to Silvies Slough Design-Build Bundle 414

U.S. Route 395 spans eastern Oregon from Pendleton to Burns. Seven of the bridges in this scenic corridor needed replacing, and one required repair. All of the bridges are located along environmentally- and wildlife-sensitive waterways and areas. Wildish Standard Paving, Inc. selected Otak as lead consulting engineer for this $40 million design-build project. Otak led a multi-disciplinary team to complete design and specifications, and provide project management. Water resources evaluated hydraulic conditions at each bridge site, designed scour countermeasures to protect bridge foundations while meeting fluvial and environmental performance standards, prepared temporary erosion and sediment control plans including temporary water management recommendations, designed the water quality facilities and completed stormwater management plans.
