Oregon Zoo Stormwater Master Plan
Location: Portland, OR The Oregon Zoo’s planned renovations and expansion includes a vision of managing stormwater and wastewater in a more sustainable manner. Otak conducted a feasibility study and developed a facility-wide plan for stormwater and water re-use. The re-use portion includes recommendations for a system to treat and potentially re-use water from facilities such as the hippopotamus, rhinoceros and giraffe exhibits. The master plan includes a separated wastewater and stormwater system for the entire Zoo (the systems are currently combined) and a plan for managing stormwater to meet the standards in the latest City of Portland Stormwater Management Manual. |
