I-90: Snoqualmie Pass East—Hyak to Keechelus Dam

Location: Kittitas County, WA
Client: Washington State Department of Transportation (subconsultant to URS)

The Washington Department of Transportation aims to provide a safer, more efficient, six-lane freeway along I-90. The first phase will address transportation and wildlife mobility concerns along one of the world’s largest snowsheds. Otak led an interagency stormwater committee for the first phase and oversaw all stormwater aspects, including analyzing stream flow and highway drainage; determining the hydrologic methods for snow-prone areas and designing the collection, conveyance and treatment systems for one of WSDOT’s few "Mega Projects."
