Portland Streetcar
Location: Portland, OR The 2.5-mile Streetcar system is a vital link to the central city and a catalyst for the ongoing development of several districts. Otak managed the overall project, was responsible for surveying and mapping the track alignments and was responsible for designing the northerly track segment of the project. Key to the Streetcar’s success is a unique structural slab system on which the streetcar rides. This system allowed for minimal damage to the existing streets during construction, as well as a rapid installation of track components, greatly reducing the impact on local businesses and residences and furthering its seamless integration in the community. |
