Redevelopment of Al Rayyan Road Corridor
Location: Doha, Qatar Otak worked with Qatar’s Urban Planning and Development Authority (UPDA) to redevelop the 15-kilometer Al Rayyan Road Corridor, which stretches through the historic central core of Doha and links the Emire’s Palace at Al Wajba and the Emire Diwan. Otak analyzed multi-modal and intermodal transportation opportunities, provided transit station area planning, identified bicycle and pedestrian improvement needs and developed transit-oriented development concepts. Street and streetscape design guidelines were developed to reflect the unique character of each neighborhood and district, and to create a cohesive identity for the corridor as a street of royal importance in the capital city. |
