Mafraq to Al Ghwaifat Highway Improvements

The Mafraq to Al Ghwaifat Highway, an important roadway connecting oil refining and industrial areas, has almost reached capacity. Otak completed a full design upgrade to transform a 110-kilometer, two-lane section between Al Ruwais and Abu Al Abiad to a four-lane highway. Services included study, survey, detailed design and preparation of the tender documents. Otak also designed four new interchanges to serve the rapidly expanding developments on the coastal belt, plus two minor vehicular underpasses and two pedestrian underpasses. The design includes numerous box culverts, safety barriers, lighting and signing features to ensure the highway’s safety and usability.
