NE Highway 99 Realignment

As the fastest-growing county in Washington, Clark County has pursued strategies to alleviate the transportation issues associated with rapid growth. Otak teamed with the County to realign NE Highway 99 at the confluence of I-5 and I-205 north of Vancouver. This $10 million project provides a smoother connection for commuters whose meandering route had caused heavy congestion and a high accident rate. Following a two-phase process that included environmental assessment, urban design and public involvement, the realigned roadway achieved the County’s goals for this principal arterial roadway.
