Wasat Al Madina Revitalization Study
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE One of the key components of Abu Dhabi’s Plan 2030 is to revitalize the Central Business District. Otak completed the Wasat Al Madina Revitalization Study to provide detailed design concepts and strategies for twelve super-blocks in downtown Abu Dhabi. The study delivers place-based solutions for congestion, parking, quality of the public realm and community facility needs. The study incorporates the principles of the Development Management Program and Urban Street Design Manual — both completed by Otak — and Estidama, the Emirate’s new sustainability program. This pedestrian and transit oriented urban design framework will guide future development proposals in downtown Abu Dhabi. |
