Otak works with federal agencies, local governments and energy companies to develop visual mitigation strategies for linear (roadways and pipelines), stationary (single well pads, drilling rigs, water tanks), and massed (wind farm, energy field) facilities. Otak is adept at analyzing the existing landscape to document the visual quality of the environment and components such as landform and land cover (water, vegetation and human-made development), as well as evaluating and illustrating potential options for minimizing the visual impacts of energy development. We often work in conjunction with other resources and users to find balance and a workable solution that integrates multiple resource needs.
