NERA Redevelopment Project

The northeast redevelopment area (NERA) of Burien, Washington, adjacent to Sea-Tac International Airport, is an area in transition as a result of the recently completed third runway. Otak has helped create a redevelopment plan to manage change in the NERA. Working with the City of Burien and Port of Seattle, Otak developed a plan for a flexible range of future land uses that will be compatible with airport operations, stimulate economic activity and create jobs. The plan also establishes a “chart for change” to help set priorities for catalyst projects and capital investments that will jump-start redevelopment.
