McCall, Idaho Planning Services - Comprehensive Plan Update and Parks and Recreation Master Plan

As one of the fastest growing resort towns in Idaho, McCall needed to update its comprehensive plan to ensure its ongoing livability and adherence to smart growth principles. With an eye toward land use, transportation and open space, Otak worked with the community in four design dialogue workshops to comprehensively update McCall’s growth projections, policies, future land use map and transportation plan. Parallel to the comprehensive plan effort, the Otak team was also responsible for preparing a master plan for the city’s parks, open spaces and recreation facilities. Through a week-long community design dialogue process, we obtained input and perspectives from the community about important parks and recreation priorities. The Recreation Master Plan was immediately adopted and put into action by the McCall City Council, including the redesign and redevelopment of the town’s signature lakefront public area – Legacy Park and the E. Lake Street Pedestrian Promenade.
