Wasat Al Madina Revitalization Study

A Central Business District comprised of 12 super-blocks plays a key role in Plan Abu Dhabi 2030’s vision of transforming Abu Dhabi into a leading example of a walkable, sustainable Arab city. Otak developed the Wasat Al Madina Revitalization Study to propose detailed design concepts and strategies that offer practical, place-based solutions for congestion, parking, public realm improvements and community facility needs. The study incorporates the principles of the Development Regulations Framework and Urban Street Design Manual prepared by Otak, and Estidama (the Emirate’s new sustainability initiative, similar to LEED Neighborhood Development).
