North Wathba Masterplan
Location: Abu Dhabi, UAE North Wathba, a community planned for Abu Dhabi’s eastern edge, is anticipated to become home to residents working in the nearby Capital City District. Otak completed the North Wathba Masterplan to accommodate 128,000 future residents for the 4,178-hectare site. The plan establishes a system of well-defined, walkable neighborhoods and provides enhanced connectivity for vehicles, pedestrians and bicyclists. Housing includes villa plots, townhouses and apartments. Commercial services and community facilities are strategically located within Neighborhood Centers, District Centers and a Town Center. A tram line and a metro line form transit corridors supported by higher density housing and commercial development. An extensive system of parks and open spaces support a wide range of recreational opportunities. |
