The pace of development along the Oregon coast has increased the importance of addressing the region's long-term infrastructure. Collaborating with the City of Brookings and U.S. Borax, part of the Rio Tinto Minerals group, Otak facilitated the annexation of the historic Lone Ranch property, preparing the master development plan for this unique community overlooking the Pacific Ocean. The master plan accommodates 1,000 residential units, educational facilities and over 300 acres of open space on the 550-acre site. Over four miles of trails link residents to amenities including a community center, neighborhood commercial node and community college campus. The plan also analyzed the area’s water, sanitary sewer and private utility needs, establishing a clear vision for the property’s future.
