SE 185th Avenue Trunk Sewer
Location: Washington County, OR
Otak was selected to design a 7,000 lineal foot upgrade of a gravity trunk sewer in Aloha, Oregon for Clean Water Services. The existing pipeline was located in a densely populated urban setting, close to many businesses, and close to a creek with significant environmental constraints and groundwater concerns. The design included a basin study, flow estimates, pipeline sizing and a routing analysis. The final design consisted of 4,000 feet of open cut excavation, and 3,000 feet of pipe bursting, including a burst from 12 inches to 18 inches. It also included a 150-foot long bore under railroad tracks and the Tualatin Valley Highway.
