Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy
Location: Flagstaff, AZ Otak designed the new campus of the Flagstaff Arts and Leadership Academy (FALA), a college preparatory charter high school focused on fine and performing arts, science and humanities. Taking a cue from the works of artist Wassily Kandinsky, buildings are loosely organized around a formal spine. Spaces between buildings intertwine and overlap to create informal pockets of activity, art and nature. A new 9,800-square-foot building features classrooms, a science lab, music studio, art gallery and formal dance studio opening onto an outdoor amphitheater. Six modular buildings are relocated from the current campus site for additional classroom and administrative space. |
