The Project Iraq exhibition took place in Erbil from September 19-22. We had four representatives in attendance from Otak and HanmiGlobal (HG). The exhibitors were from all over the world, with the largest representation from Iraq, Turkey, Iran, Italy, Germany and Greece. The Otak/HG booth received a lot of traffic and interest, including a visit from the Kurdistan Regional Government’s (KRG) Minister of Housing and Construction and senior advisors to the President of KRG.

Beyond attending the exhibition, our team held several meetings with industry leaders, including the Director General of the Ministry of Municipalities, the President of the Chamber of Commerce, several developers and the President of the Iraqi Contractors’ Union. The team also spent one day driving through the Zagros Mountains to towns around Erbil, getting an impression of the natural beauty of Kurdistan and a heightened sense of the importance of natural preservation and sustainable development in the region.
