With a vision that includes something for the business, the resident, the pedestrian, the cyclist and the driver, the city of Salem has turned its sights on the Edgewater District.

Initial stages of the "Edgewater/Second Street NW Streamline Zoning and Parking Study" took place Jan. 18, when the project's Citizen Advisory Committee met at Annette's Caf .

This meeting is one of five planned during coming months with hopes of removing obstacles to people interested in development of the area.

The committee includes representation from the West Salem neighborhood and business associations, Edgewater business owners and an architect....
