Master Planning Redmond's Future

How do you create a master plan that makes everyone happy and won’t end up as a bookend?

By July, a vision and strategy for development of the northern part of Redmond’s Downtown Urban Renewal District will be complete.

The plan for a comprehensive medical/business district is part of the city’s effort to lay the groundwork for the creation of 10,000 new family-wage jobs over the next 18 years. Approval of the extension of Redmond’s Urban Renewal Plan provided $6 million to invest in the area around St. Charles Redmond, from Maple Avenue on the north to Hemlock on the south, and between old Highway 97 and the canal to the east of St. Charles. The area contains 78 acres and 35 different property owners...
