Canstruction 2010
Monday, April 19th, 2010This year Otak participated in Canstruction, an annual Society for Design Administration event to benefit the Oregon Food Bank. Eight teams consisting of architects, engineers, contractors, and other staff designed and built fun structures out of canned food. The event collected more than 28,000 cans of food and raised $3,000.
Otak’s Canstruction team began planning for this event in January by fundraising, designing the structure, collecting canned food, and preparing for build-out day. In the end, our structure entitled “Alice in Wondercan” was a success! Our 3,000+ cans included garbanzo, ranch style, and black beans; various vegetables; chicken and beef broth; black olives; cranberry sauce; and pumpkin.
A special thank you to all who participated and supported the Canstruction effort!
